By now, he was pretty sure, that he'd had his eye on that stall for a while now since he'd been walking past it back and forth throughout the day. Each time, Syrus had waltzed past he'd take a glance in the direction to check it out and see if anyone was stood there. This time though, there was barely anyone clustered around the sale goods. The stall itself had some decent stuff worth selling too, electronics mostly like chargers and speakers distributed across the surface. The owner, a middle aged woman sat on a fold out chair behind the goods counting most likely cash in a plastic box, looked as if she hasn't been around here before along with her stall. Syrus himself wasn't interested in the products but he did spark the idea of maybe reselling them on for 'better' deals, you'd be surprised who'd be willing to buy from someone on the street without an official paid stall. Hands in his pockets, he walked past as if he didn't care much for the stall on his right and what the woman was doing. Slowing down as he eyed a speaker near the front, he walked over and picked it up as if to take an interest in it while examining the product. "Excuse me, how much is this?" He asked rather politely with a smile. The woman made eye contact with him and hummed to think, making the mistake of placing the money box on the table as Syrus handed her the speaker for her to look at the price tag. The nerves were building up in him as he eyed the box. Could he? The stall owner handed him back the speaker and voiced out a price which he didn't catch, because in that moment he instantly threw the speaker at her, whether it was hers to catch or drop was her choice. In that time, he leaned over and grabbed the handle of the box. "I'm sorry!" He shouted hurriedly as he swivelled round and made a dash. Shouting could be heard from behind him as Syrus ran while trying to adjust the box so it was more comfortable to carry in a chase or whatever he was up against. Sure, Syrus was a fast and agile guy but weaving in and out of multiple people took a lot of energy and focus he had to admit. Bumping into a few people here and there, each one giving him the odd look while someone else shouted 'stop him!' frantically. Syrus had no clue how much money he was fighting for but it surely was enough to keep him going for a while or so. By now, he made it almost to the edge of the busy area to make his way to any alley or street corner. From there, he could decide what to do with this and how much he actually got. "Look, what I'm saying honestly is that woman should just leave him - this has been what the fifth time we've been out to see them this week?" Octavia let out a heavy sigh as her partner at the time shook his head at her. "It's not really any of our business, Oct. We're just here to make sure no one gets hurt."
Frustrated, Octavia made a 'pfft' noise with her lips and looked away from her partner and toward the street. Today it was her partner's turn to drive, despite the fact he had much better eyes to spot people than she did. Nevertheless, Octavia did her job dutifully. Silence passed when Octavia suddenly noticed a commotion on the street, from what looked like a stall owner waving her hands at a young man that was running away.
"Hey, hey! Over there!" Octavia hollered at her partner who quickly caught on, turning on a siren. Despite doing so there were still some drivers on the road that didn't understand the idea of moving to the side for a police officer. Within moments though they caught up to the thief and Octavia quickly jumped out of the car, "Hey, you there! Stop right now!" Octavia yelled out toward the young man.

Checking over his shoulder, the market was out of sight and that woman and a few others were not so close anymore. Syrus was confident that he could get away with such a load of cash now that he had outrun the majority of the audience. Just a little further and he'd be completely off the radar before being able to get home again. What was even better, giving it a few days Syrus would be able to return to the market or shops and pull the same trick. Nobody bothered to really call the police once he steps foot into the area again because it was common for people to steal, well by his knowledge. A lot of people Syrus had seen stealing only grabbed small items that would last them a day, whereas he aimed for the bigger prizes. Sure, his tactic wasn't as quiet and in the shadows as others but it was worth it. He'd been locked up in a cell before for the same reason, each one he left with some kind of 'strike' labelled onto him. Hell, even when he was younger he was offered by the police to take part in some sort of young people reforming programme, he couldn't remember the exact details of it. Like thunder striking through his nerves, a siren echoed in the distance. Oh god. It wasn't even the fact they were police, they were in a car and Syrus wasn't faster than a car. He was on foot though, maybe he could head away from the road. By the time that thought settled in, a voice sounded near his side when the car had stopped close to him. The officer had yelled for him to stop, like he was going to stop. Syrus had other options and he wasn't willing to stop when he clearly had a box of cash wrapped up in his arms. Instantly darting away from the woman, not taking a chance to even show his face and meet hers, he took off in a different direction down a road which wasn't so busy as this one. Some parts of the pavement had been worn from neglect and it was obvious this road wasn't a priority among people, only really used for shortcuts. Skidding to a halt he stopped in front of a door which was more of a gate, noticeably leading to a set of metal stairs nailed to the brick walls of this building. Shoving the gate with his shoulder, expecting it to open, he flicked his eyes to the lock of the gate. He didn't know what to do, police were well on their way by now and he didn't look to find out. He could hear them. Doing the only thing necessary, he threw the box over the gate and began to climb. Yes, at the top of the gate were some rusty spikes but he was willing to use his time to be careful about it. Each foot placed carefully, one on the wall and the other on the bars of the gate, rushing but also trying not to as he moved awkwardly over. "Ow" His leg got caught on the spike as he sung over, rushed footsteps getting closer and it panicked him even more. What if they grabbed him and he got caught on the fence? It'd damn hurt. Quite messily, he leaped off of the gate and both feet made contact with the ground. While the feeling was relief he had to remember his situation and time had been going a lot faster than what he'd expected. Just when he was about to pull his right arm down to his side he felt a tug, looking up the sleeve of his jack was caught on a spike. "Oh shit." "No, no, no, no you can't do this to me now." He mumbled as he scrambled his feet on the bars to try climb back up and unhook his jacket, not really wanting to just tear it off out of force. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Without even stopping, the criminal Octavia had yelled at didn't even bother to stop and the young woman let out a loud curse. "Of course, he wouldn't." She muttered to herself before getting on the radio and promptly chasing after Syrus. "We've got a runner, officer in pursuit - streets are..." Octavia quickly listed off the cross streets as she followed Syrus as fast as she could. The young man was quite a bit faster than her and while Octavia was considered to be fit, she nevertheless carried quite a bit more weight than Syrus did.
The path seemed to twist and turn as Octavia tried her best to keep Syrus in her view, losing him for a few minutes as he continued to run as Octavia slowed down by just a tiny bit. Two officers who were in the area and had heard the call were quick to find Octavia and followed closely behind her as she stopped near the last turn she thought she saw Syrus turn down.
Reaching for her tazer, Octavia held her hand out toward the two officers behind her to signal for them to be on the alert as well - one of them having shifted into their animal form as a bobcat.
One step, two step... Octavia heard it then and as Syrus let out a curse, the young woman turned toward the direction of the noise - a gate which appeared to have a jacket caught on it. Quickly looking around her, Octavia noticed a a significantly small puddle of water and mumbled a word of thanks to thin air as she moved her hands to bring the water up from the ground and over to section of Syrus's jacket that was caught on the spike - promptly freezing it in place. To the other officers she signaled for them to find another way around the gate.
"If you give yourself up now, it'll be less trouble for you in the long run!" Octavia hollered over at him, trying to figure out a way to get over the gate without having to use the same method that Syrus had.
Shark notes: I don't think Octavia is a very good cop, lmao but it is fun seeing how she pursues Syrus. I hope this is an alright post! :3
