☄ abilities If one were to ask Arturius about the animal that he can shift into, he would proudly state the Honey Badger.  While small in size, this form is one that naturally many other shifters are wary of.  Arturius benefits from this form in several ways, starting with incredibly thick skin.  Arturius can draw upon his animal form to thicken his skin at any given time allowing him to deflect any bites and or any sort of blow from a sharp object and even so much as a bullet if he prepared himself quickly enough.  Arturius can also allow his skin to loosen itself giving himself maneuverability if he were to ever be physically contained by someone else.

Arturius is also capable of shifting his hands into claws and his teeth into that of a honey badger's teeth which includes considerable biting force.  Arturius is capable of fully shifting into his animal form without the assistance of a mage (at least once a month), but chooses not too for personal reasons.  Instead he enjoys remaining in his human form with the occasional assistance from his soul animal.

It's also important to note that Arturius has seemingly infinite stamina a trait from his animal form that he has adapted into his human form.  This is typically only applicable though if he finds himself cornered into a situation by an aggressor with no chance of succeeding. 

Lastly Arturius is capable of emitting extremely obscene foul odors to essentially make people leave him alone, much more overwhelming then say for example a human fart.  While he is capable of doing this, Arturius only entertained this in his younger days and chooses not to do so anymore unless some odd situation were to arise.

☄ role First and foremost, Arturius is one of the top commander's in the Army.  Since New Rome is in a state of peace however, Arturius took it upon himself to run for one of the government positions in the Imperium and succeeded in getting elected by the general animal-shifter populace.  Arturius's platform is as follows: Creating more opportunities for animal-shifters in higher paying jobs, combining mage and animal-shifter schools and revisiting the laws on hybrids as well as a few other hot button topics.  Arturius makes a point to visit animal-shifter communities weekly that suffer from lack of support from the government. 

Arturius's campaign slogan is "Open the wall!" in reference to the invisible line between animal-shifters and mages. 

☄ appearance Arturius's most distinguishable feature is his height, standing at about five foot four inches give or take a few centimeters.  He has pitch black hair that he enjoys to gel back and typically keeps some length on the top of his head in order to do so.  On either side of his head, his hair is cut short and there is a streak of white on both sides.  Oddly though, only the left side is natural - for his own enjoyment Arturius dyes the other side just so it can match.  Arturius's hair is naturally straight so it does not take much effort for the older man to style it.

Arturius's eyes are a bright piercing baby blue color and when the man is in deep thought it can be seen quite clearly in his eyes.  Arturius boasts a stocky short of frame with a muscular body all around through years and years of conditioning it to be so.  He makes a point to have a well kept appearance (shaving his face quite regularly) and by his skin color in Old Earth could have been considered to come from European descent.  Due to age, his face is now home to distinct lines that appear to be carved into him in a harsh sort of manner - his resting face seemingly staring down anyone he comes into contact with.  

☄ personality  Arturius lives to be a nuisance to people that bother him and is sometimes sympathetic to those that came from a similar background as him.  Known by Arthur to those persistence enough to be around him and known only by Art to lovers, Arturius is a man of action, ambition, passion and sharp intelligence.  

A "lone wolf" so to speak, Arturius enjoy his solitary time and makes a point to eat, drink and sleep by himself.  He is a sore loser and a fierce competitor, unbending in his ways and rough to those that are considered to be "soft, modest and/or patient." Arturius only responds well to a force equal to his own will when communicating with other people, anything less and the person is not worth his time.

The man often says that he clawed his way through life with blood and sweat and because of that has a constant drive to keep on moving up in the world.  Arturius considers his life to be an uphill battle, every person in his life must be able to assist in that climb.  If Arturius is not moving up in his life whether it be in position, wealth or anything else - the man considers himself to be a failure and grows restless.  He is one for constant moving and constant change and holds himself up to a certain standard. 

Because of this Arturius will call people out if they seem to care more about the thoughts of others and has a hobby of trying to poke people's buttons.  At his core Arturius has given himself a standard he must achieve and the opinions and comments of others are of no consequence to him. 


☄ strengths 

01.)  Arturius is a strong and capable fighter and is able to be aggressive or defend himself if the situation calls for it (or even sometimes if the situation doesn't call for it, maybe he just felt like fighting).

02.)  Arturius sympathizes with animal-shifters that grew up with the same kind of background that he did and can be somewhat softer in his personality toward those people (you know, kindness!) 

03.) Due to his immense stamina Arturius is capable of performing a full shift without a mage (at least once a month) and shifting back into a human with no sense of exhaustion.  This is something that came to him much more easily the older he became.  

☄ weaknesses 

01.)  Arturius is a naturally mean person and is quite difficult to hold a conversation with much less get along with, because of that he does not have many close friends - and the few friends that he does have are essentially cut from the same cloth.

02.) Arturius ADORES honey with every fiber of his being, he will weaken at the taste of it and turns into a jelly form of the man that he usually is.  Honey is a guilty pleasure, aphrodisiac and quite simply an obsession to the man and can be easily bribed with it otherwise.  

03.)  Arturius is a narcissistic man with some conceited tendencies.  Typically this conceit is only shown  in the way he treats his appearance, but sometimes it can be noticed in areas of his personality as well.  

☄ history Born in a small town near what was once considered Germany, Arturius from his first breath was born into mud and rain and thus began his climb. Born to a mother with little ability to care for him, it is often quite a wonder how Arturius survived infant hood - nonetheless through the various male visitors his mother received - some more gentle like took it upon themselves to help with his upbringing, others although not so much.

Around the age of twelve Arturius lost his mother to an abusive visitor and was cast out onto the streets. It was through this experience that Arturius began to fully understand the nature of the animal inside of him and how it benefited him. Through struggle, persistence and dirty street fighting Arturius finally made it to eighteen when a war broke out. Arturius did not hesitate to join and was placed into the infantry, after all the Army offered a free bed and meals all for the sake of offering your own life - it seemed like a fair trade to him at the time.

At this point Arturius had never made a dyadic pact with anyone, no mage wanted a child animal-shifter off the streets anyhow. The strength in his animal soon became apparent to the first mage he created a dyadic pact with as the earth mage felt a sudden influx of energy from Arturius and an increase in his own magical ability. It was through this that Arturius began to understand he had just as much to offer as a mage had to offer to the world.

Through considerable strength and skill Arturius quickly moved up in the ranks of the Army only come to find out that in order to move up anymore, some mages higher in rank then him would have to retire - one of which had been his first dyadic pact.  Despite having created some sort of odd friendship with the earth mage, Arturius was fully aware that mages typically lived a lot longer than animal-shifters did and because of that the young man quickly devised a plan on what he needed to do to move up. 

The next battle they ended up being sent to was the last for several that he had served with.  A story that Arturius plans to live with until he dies, the young man (at the time) in the midst of battle killed about four mages (one of which being his earth mage) and one animal-shifter that was higher up than him in the ranks.  Once everything was said and done, it was assumed that the mages and animal-shifter died a honorable death in battle and with time Arturius continued to move up the ranks in the army. 

In the present day, Arturius has held his position in the army for quite some time now (at least ten years) and has only recently been elected into the Imperium (for about a year now).  Arturius does not go out of his way to make pacts with mages and if he does he will typically target weak willed earth mages in order to manipulate them.  Arturius's form strengthens mages that create a pact with him quite considerably and because of that he will generally keep his form to himself.  Arturius plans on making significant changes in the government and has the intelligence to do so.
