☄ abilities Octavia was born with water as her element and is capable of changing the state of water with ease at about two liters, once it gets past that point things get quite a bit more difficult. Octavia's specialty lies with what she can do underwater. Octavia is able to separate water from her person upon being underwater in order to make air pockets for her or one other person. She is also able to manipulate the currents underwater in order to make herself swim faster, her ability to manipulate the currents often rely on her own physical stamina and she can become stagnant underwater if she wears herself out.

Most of Octavia's skill is available to her upon being immersed in water, with an acception to her ability to change the state of water. 

☄ role  Octavia was originally an underwater archaeologist before going through a career change. Octavia is now a police officer for New Rome City and is stationed near downtown. Octavia is responsible for maintaining peace and making sure the citizens of New Rome City behave properly as it is expected of them.

☄ appearance Octavia is an intimidating woman standing at 6"03, this in combination with her resting bitch face makes it sometimes difficult to approach her. Octavia sports wide hips, a large bum and a somewhat large chest - she is a woman quite literally made of curves . With her previous job Octavia could have been considered pudgy in some areas due to lack of exercise, those areas have now been toned through hard work and mental will power.

Octavia always seems to walk with a purpose, whether she is at work or running personal errands. With dark brown curly hair that falls right at her lower back, if Octavia does not devote enough time to her hair it is liable to become frizzy and quite wild. For work, Octavia prefers to tame her hair into a tight bun with the use of quite a few hair products. Octavia has hazel eyes that have a tendency to look darker than they actually are in certain lighting. Her skin tone is of a rich sepia variation, whenever the woman blushes it typically darkens the light color in her face.

Octavia typically dresses for comfort and style and enjoys wearing accessories such as sunglasses and jewelry.  On the back of her right thigh, Octavia has a medium sized tattoo with the words "I thank whatever gods may be, for my unconquerable soul."



☄ personality Octavia is a naturally curious and intelligent woman. Excelling in communication Octavia is a gifted mediator and enjoys being involved with people and their lives. Octavia is by no means shy and in romantic situations is typically the person to make the first move.  The woman enjoys being involved in people's lives and makes it a point to see how the people around her doing and check in on her friends often.

Typically in the work place Octavia treats her animal-shifter coworkers with fair equality and when settling disputes she tries to be fair to most shifters. Octavia is prone to some prejudice though and will sometimes treat an animal-shifter unfairly depending upon their station in life and the manner in which they carry themselves.

In her day by day life, Octavia can more often then not be found shopping in some of the popular areas around New Rome. The mage has a healthy fascination with the music from Old Earth and typically abuses her relationships with her previous water mage co-workers in order to gain access to any new music that might have been discovered.

While she is typically a light-hearted person, Octavia becomes very serious and professional at work and has an admirable work ethic. She is not beyond "shooting the shit" with her co-workers though depending upon the relationship. 

☄ strengths 

01.)  Through years of practice, when it comes to being underwater Octavia is able to maintain air pockets for her and one other person to breath with relative ease.  The action is akin to second nature to her, almost like breathing.

02.)  Octavia is talented at solving disputes between two people and enjoys doing it quite often if she is able too.  Thanks to this, Octavia can sometimes be consider a chatty person.

03.)  Octavia enjoys fashion and cooking and is considered excellent at both by her friends and family.

☄ weaknesses 

01.)  Octavia can sometimes suffer from doubt in her actions and while her first choice may have been right, she will sometimes go with her second choice purely because of doubting herself.

02.)  Octavia trusts her government to a fault and can be malleable to government officials and anything they ask her to do.  She assumes that she is in the right because the government must be right. 

03.)  Octavia cannot use her abilities in a particularly aggressive way unless she is underwater.  She has not learned how to and will have to find a teacher to be able to learn how to disable criminals with her power over water.

☄ history The Pennington family is a small water mage family - not as notable as several other water mage families.  At a young age Octavia was coddled and spoiled as an only child by her mother and father, as such they also planned out her life for her by having her specialize in underwater magic use and pursue a degree and a career in archaeology.  For the first half of her life, Octavia went along with this and seemingly had no problem for quite awhile.

In the first two years of work in her field, underwater archaeology - Octavia and her co-workers made several musical and literature discoveries.  Several pieces of this literature had information on Old American military and Octavia soon fell in love with the ideal of serving a country and its people.  To her it seemed noble and quite amazing.

Octavia at the age of twenty-five soon signed up for the police academy and received the necessary training to become a police officer in New Rome.  Octavia has been a police officer for about four years now and is planning sometime in the future on returning to a water mage university in order to learn how to use water in a more aggressive way.
